A postpartum that generates
health, with you at the centre.

Postpartum is a profound transition: a window of vulnerability that, when met with thoughtful care, can become a powerful opportunity to generate long-term health for the whole family. For this reason, it deserves a clear architecture of care, one that supports the body, the mind, and the relational fabric of family life in a balanced and intentional way.
It also requires a truly systemic perspective. Within a family, health is never confined to a single individual; it functions as a shared ecosystem, where what affects one person inevitably influences the others. Protecting one member helps safeguard the whole. Strengthening a mother strengthens the family around her.

Hello,
I'm Dr.ssa Effe

My name is Dr Francesca Maria Grosso. I’m a physician specialised in Preventive Medicine, with an MSc in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, and a PhD in Clinical Medicine, Oncology, and Public Health. I’m nearing IBCLC certification and have additional training in infant sleep physiology. I’m also a mother.

After a challenging postpartum experience of my own, I chose to help reshape the way families are supported through this critical, yet often underestimated, season. My work brings preventive medicine into the postpartum period, integrating physical, mental, and relational health and viewing the family as a living system.

I design personalised health protocols that are evidence-based, genuinely sustainable, and rooted in each family’s goals and real life.

MY VALUES
01
Health is Multidimensional
Health isn’t a set of separate compartments. Body, mind, and relationships continuously shape one another in a dynamic balance. When one dimension is neglected, the whole system often feels it. That’s why my protocols are designed in an integrated way, holding these dimensions together with an intentionally holistic approach that respects real-life complexity.
02
Science in Service of Self-Determination
A core principle of medicine is autonomy: the right to make informed choices about your body and your health. I support families through decision-making by translating what the science says, where it is strong, and where uncertainty remains. We weigh the trade-offs of each option with clarity and transparency, so the final decision is truly yours.
03
Family health is systemic health
Within a family, health is interconnected: what affects one person reverberates through the others, and vice versa. Parental health, especially maternal health, profoundly influences a baby’s wellbeing, just as an infant’s health can directly impact a mother’s stability. For this reason, my work focuses on “conjugated” health goals, co-designed for mother, baby, and partner as one living system.
04
Protecting the mother creates healthier generations
Maternal health is generational health. Research consistently shows that what happens to a mother from the preconception period through pregnancy and beyond can shape her child’s long-term health. Protecting maternal wellbeing isn’t only care for the present, it’s an investment in the health of the generations to come.
Testimonials

“I felt guided and, above all, more autonomous in my decisions. Finally, someone who truly explains the pros and cons and helps you choose with calm confidence.”

Postpartum Recovery

The Fourth Trimester: Why Postpartum Care Is Just as Vital as Pregnancy

Postpartum is often described as a “recovery,” but in real life it’s a full-body and full-life transition. After pregnancy and birth, the body doesn’t simply return to baseline: hormones shift, tissues heal, sleep fragments, routines collapse and rebuild, and identity changes in ways that can feel both beautiful and disorienting.

Preparing for the Postpartum Period

Most people prepare for birth. Far fewer prepare for what comes after. And yet postpartum is where recovery, identity shifts, feeding, sleep disruption, and the new family rhythm all collide at once. The “bounce back” narrative sets women up to feel behind before they’ve even started. Postpartum isn’t a sprint, it’s a recalibration, and the more you plan for support, the smoother the landing tends to be.
